After a fairly long winter lay off from sewing I'm back in action. A busy few months doing things around the house and garden, plus a hectic few months at work have left me with little time or enthusiasm to sew. I managed a nice set of quilted greetings cards as a Mother's Day gift for my mum, Twiglet, and a quantity of vintage button cushions (joint venture with Twiglet) but not much else. Therefore I'm giving it some effort this bank holiday so we'll see what I can rustle up.
As I've been a little focused on buttons recently I've fired up the 'dumfer' ready for a bit of machine felting for a change of scene. I'm thinking I'll produce some greetings cards to replenish my supplies ahead of birthday and weddings season!
About Me
- Tilly Tea Dance
- I am a lifelong fabric artist who loves bringing a home to life with quirky, unique and sumptuous pieces of textile art. I learnt my craft from sharing many a happy hour sewing with my talented mother. I particularly like collage, free-machining, needle-felting and creating home furnishings using a combination of machine and hand sewing. I love incorporating vintage and reclaimed fabrics, buttons, beads, jewellery and other items in my work to give them a second chance at being beautiful.
Hi Tilly!!
ReplyDeleteYour little patchworks are lovely. I hope the little dumflings turn out as good as your last set. I will sort out some cards ready for mounting them. x
Love the little patchwork pieces you have there. They will look lovely on cards. What a find at the market stall all those lovely buttons where just waiting for the right person to pick them up and use them, you. I have just got my sewing machine all oiled up and serviced its running like a dream now, used it on a cute coffee cozy, going to make some patchwork cushions owl ones of course. Have a great day, Sandy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy, will have to check out the patchwork owls. I'm toying with ideas for patchwork elephants at the mo as I've got a supply of upholstery fabric sample books to use up. Happy patchworking :-)
