About Me

My photo
I am a lifelong fabric artist who loves bringing a home to life with quirky, unique and sumptuous pieces of textile art. I learnt my craft from sharing many a happy hour sewing with my talented mother. I particularly like collage, free-machining, needle-felting and creating home furnishings using a combination of machine and hand sewing. I love incorporating vintage and reclaimed fabrics, buttons, beads, jewellery and other items in my work to give them a second chance at being beautiful.

Well I failed to come up with any ideas to make use of my hessian, stamps and buttons. However...

Remember these?

Well, I finished these off, and am quite pleased with the results :-) ...

I also rustled this up :-) ...

On the down side, I've now found my button supply somewhat depleted.

How fortuitous therefore that I joined mum and dad on their regular weekly pilgrimage to Harry Tuffin's sunday market. Despite the low turnout due to bad weather I spotted this interesting little tin in a basket of oddments...
Gave it a rattle...

Had a peek...

What should I find...
Wayhey!!! More buttons... and fab vintage mother of pearl and glass ones at that! Well worth £1!!
