I am a lifelong fabric artist who loves bringing a home to life with quirky, unique and sumptuous pieces of textile art. I learnt my craft from sharing many a happy hour sewing with my talented mother. I particularly like collage, free-machining, needle-felting and creating home furnishings using a combination of machine and hand sewing. I love incorporating vintage and reclaimed fabrics, buttons, beads, jewellery and other items in my work to give them a second chance at being beautiful.

WOYWW - Robins and dumflings!

Happy WOYWW to one and all! Thanks for visiting my regular blog about my needle-felting and embroidery activities.

Here's my workdesk this morning...

Did someone say Christmas is just round the corner? Well in that case it's a good job I am in the throws of making my Christmas cards this morning. I'm continuing on my mixed hand/free-machine embroidered theme with these cheeky robins...



This week I had a visit from a lovely customer looking for presents for some special people in her life. As regular visitors to my blog will know, I have been busy recently replenishing my dumfling stocks so I had plenty to show her! Fresh from a visit to Ikea for frames I mounted all my latest dumflings and set them out on display...

As you can see from my workdesk, I've still got loads of little dumflings to finish off (and a little man to entertain) so I'd best get cracking!

      Yes, 'dumfling' is the name that my mother (twiglet), aunt (wipso) and I have coined to describe the products of all our 'dumfing' (needle-felting) activity. It's kinda onomatopoeic in that it sounds like the action it describes! Thanks for stopping by!

    These are beautiful. John bought me a dumfer - I haven't really got to grips with it yet - must do better come the new year!! Your robin is very cute! Will be a real treasure when people receive it this Christmas.

    The little robin is so adorable! How lucky are you to have such a talented mom and aunt! I didn't know of the connection (or if I did I had forgotten). I need to do a WOYWW family tree!!!

    Congrats of selling several of your dumflings. They look great in the white Ikea frames.

    I'm not participating this week but wanted to stop by and see what people are doing.

    Your dumflings are so beautiful, I'm not at all surprised they are selling. Get your whatsit in gear and make a few more as people will buy them as presents. I can't think of anything more tasteful than a dumfling. lol.
    Your little Ben is a cutie. Saw him last week with his new wooly hat. Gorgeous!
    Your Robin Xmas card is hilarious. Yes, it does remind me of an 'angry bird', but he doesn't look that angry really.

    I'm very late, sorry! Love the little pieced Robin, he speaks perfectly the Christmans greeting you want to extend. It must be a real thrill to have returning customers and something new to offer them.
