It's just a quick post this Wednesday as I'm up to my ears in packing for our Cornwall holiday. I've not been very busy with my sewing this week so here's a whistle-stop tour of my workdesk...
The little man's first birthday is looming large just a few weeks away so I'm working on a birthday picture. His birthday teaparty will be hungry caterpillar themed and I plan to use photographs of the finished picture for the invitations he'll send to his twelve little friends. If it's any good when I've finished it I might frame the picture for his wall.
Also on my workdesk is the finished 'treasure hunt' toy I've made to occupy Ben on the ride down to Cornwall.
I've used some clear plastic (like table cloth) to make a little pouch which I filled with plastic pellets and ten little charms including a ladybird, butterfly and duck. Ben is getting good at recognising and pointing to 'red spotty ladybird' in his favourite books so hopefully he'll enjoy hunting for it in this toy too.
So it's been a frenzy of last minute packing for me, but we've not all been so busy. I think someone has already got into the holiday spirit with a bit of 'maƱana' time...
That's all for now folks...I must get on with scaling the Mont Blanc of ironing! I'll try to drop by some desks at nap time and catch up with some of the lovely crafters via Julia's Stamping Ground :-)
Happy crafting x

Hehe.. everyone keeps warning me about sea gulls! I had a bit of an altercation with a goose when I was small so I'll be on guard with the gulls as Ben eats his lunch! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteHope your holiday goes really well (hope the weather picks up for you too!). I loved taking our boys to the seaside when they were little, all they wanted to do was dig holes in sand and climb rocks :-). Simple, happy pleasures. Mind you, they still like doing that at 19 and 22, lolol!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Ben will adore his book, it's fab!

Nothing better, time off in Cornwall with a kid...so much fun to be had. Love the distraction book you've made, what a great idea. Finally had time to see last weeks post too, the book is just as fab as it promised to be, a right heirloom if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteHave a marvellous holiday!
How cute is that photo of Ben! I have never seen a little one like that with his hands behind his head. So cute.
ReplyDeleteHe is lucky to have such a wonderful mummy who makes him all these interactive toys and things - cannot believe he is almost one. Time really does fly.
Hugs & Thanks for your earlier visit when I was out shopping - Neet 19 xx
Don't mention Ironing to me , I hate it. I can always find an excuse not to do it but sometimes it just has to be done! Have a great week and happy crafty WOYWW, Angela x 24
ReplyDeleteI love the little book you've made - so clever and I'm sure it will keep him occupied and happy on your drive! He looks a cutie and I hope you have a lovely fun-filled holiday.

I love the hungry caterpillar and so did my son when he was little (he's 23 now...) Good luck getting ready and have a great holiday! Happy woyww and a warm hug (it's hot and humid in the Netherlands at the moment!) from Holland, Marit #36
ReplyDeleteBTW meant to say I reply to your comment on my blog, that I did not ask Windows 10 to download, it choose to do it, I earmarked it like you for possibly a later date. That was my choice. But Micrsoft choose to down
ReplyDeleteAnd it without me asking and keeps doing it I keep stopping then deleting those files, and on forums there are hundreds of folks with same issue including the UK crying help in desperation. Be aware and hide that icon if you can, otherwise you might end up in same boat. The link on my post tell s you how to hide it.
Just warning you, believe you me you don't want to loose control of your computer... As I have done.
May have to do a complete reload or go over to Linux. Not sure.
